Exhibit

Cocoon Art Exhibition
A locally run community art exhibition. The gathering featured local artists including sculpture and pottery, acrylic, film and other mediums.
My submission to the exhibition included a recent body of work carved from lino, as well as one watercolour piece.
The Jane Series
This series represents the cycle of healing and growth. Each one has come to me in their respective stages.
Searching is powered by that inner knowing and curiosity for more.
Shifting over that awareness of ignorance to wanting to grow can often cloud your vision and ruffle up deeply rooted emotions.
Surrender is the final stage, and often the hardest for me to grasp. I had convinced myself that surrender equalled painlessness. Instead, life is made rich and beautiful through it’s ephemeral dichotomies. Surrendering encompasses all, including surrendering to the darkness sometimes. Though there is truth to my naivety, we can still find beauty in the darkness.
Homebody
I always thought the transition between adolescence and adulthood was characterised by obvious factors such age, moving out of home or owning your first washing machine.
I have since come to learn that it is in fact the moment when you are no longer sheltered. Cracks reveal complexities and pain in an otherwise blissfully ignorant scene. You look to your parents for support but realise they need it just as much as you do.
This art piece represents my disoriented search for home. Navigating landscapes and mythologies to help me to believe that home is embodied within me, and that I have more than just myself.
Society
Our residential and architectural development since the industrial revolution has contributed to the external growth of our civilisation, but has destroyed the development of our internal selves to the point where morals, values, emotions and intuition have become completely desensitised from the human experience.
This piece represents this ignorance of “development” and how this suffocates any conscious path of natural evolution and growth/expansion/enlightenment/awareness.
Gemini
Inspired by a past relationship, this piece represents the re-connection with femininity and the return to safety in vulnerability. As a result I witnessed another world reveal itself, diving deeper into nature and expressing this kinship through Australian natives.

The Eltham Hotel
The core of this piece lies within the potential of architecture to act as a shell to culture and belonging. This hotel, since 1902, has become a landmark amongst it’s rich landscape, housing the heart of the community from young budding creators to the local farmer and his dog.
Carved from lino, a timeless ode to all this hotel has, and will continue to serve us.
